Performer Agreement and Contract
CONTRACT AGREEMENT FOR INDEPENDENT VOICE PERFORMER AND PRODUCER
This agreement is entered into on [Date], between Dark Comedy UK (hereafter referred to as “Producer”), and [Voice Performer’s Name], (hereafter referred to as “Performer”).
The Producer agrees to engage the services of the Performer to record a voice-over of the original script for a project entitled [Project Title] (the “Project”).
Scope of Work:
- The Performer will provide the Producer with a recording of the script to the agreed-upon quality standard.
- The Performer will be responsible for recording, editing, and producing the recording.
- The recording must be delivered to the Producer on or before [Delivery Date].
- The Performer will be paid an agreed-upon fee of [Agreed Fee] for their services rendered.
Payment:
- The Producer will pay the Performer the agreed fee upon the delivery of the recording.
- Payment will be made via Bank Transfer to the Performer’s designated bank account on completion and delivery of the recording to a useful standard accompanied by an invoice for the amount agreed herein.
Copyright:
- The Original Author will retain all rights to the original script and the use of the original script is under license to the Producer.
- The Performer will not claim ownership or any rights to the script, and any use of the recording will be subject to the Original Author’s approval and with the agreement of the Producer.
- The Performer will not reproduce, distribute, or share the recording without the Producer’s express permission.
Quality Control:
- The Performer will provide the Producer with a demo recording for approval before the final recording is made.
- The Performer will be given the opportunity to make reasonable changes to the recording based on the Producer’s feedback.
- The final recording will meet the agreed-upon quality standards.
- The recording will be edited with other parts in a final production. The best way for the Performer to create multiple takes is to read each line in the context of the script with 2 second pauses between each line. One take of the entire script in sequence with repeated lines used minimally (to correct mistakes) is best for the Editor to work with. A second complete take can then be created in a separate file.
Termination:
- Either party may withdraw from this agreement for any reason by giving written notice to the other party.
- In the event of termination, the Performer will not be entitled to receive payment as the work is only of value if it is complete.
This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings, and agreements between them. This agreement may not be modified, amended, or altered except in writing signed by both parties.
