Dark Comedy is a loose collective. Our plan is to build a library of entertaining content so we can make a profit for the producers of work, pay the artists and reward writers. We can now gather an audience, create more content and attract subscriptions.
Phase 1 is to make more Radioplays, Monologs, Dialogs, write more scripts, record and produce the best ones, publish some for free (for a limited time), build content for subscribers only, to build a following of supporters, performers, actors, writers and producers who create content for Dark Comedy. We offer subscriptions (which are like season tickets) for our supporters. When we have enough content, subscription will become required to see the new content. This is all now in place. How do we build a lot more content that is entertaining, dark and twisted? With the fuel of enthusiasm?
Phase 2 is to expand our subscription base of dedicated supporters model, and run a Kickstarter campaign to fund new works so we are able to paying performers for their work. Funds from subscriptions support the site growth by advertising on Google.
Phase 3 requires a growing library of maybe 150 productions and 250 subscribers, the Kickstarter campaign to raise £50k so that every performer who worked on content will be paid. And future performers will have a contract with payment. Writers will be paid a royalty for every view (a percentage of the subscription pool). Producers will be paid a percentage of profits of anything left over (as Dark Comedy is the producer, this could build a bit of a fund to promote the site).
Phase 4 is to record work on a yacht in the Mediterranean. We buy lottery tickets hoping to get to this phase early. Good luck.
